The key 10 styles of Bathroom Faucets are:

  1. Center Set
  2. Single Handle
  3. Spread Fit
  4. Bridge
  5. Wall-Mounted
  6. Sprinkle
  7. Tub Wall Mount Bathroom Faucets
  8. Deck Mount Bathroom Faucets
  9. Roman Tub Faucets
  10. Freestanding Tub Faucets

Lets discuss each of these styles in detail:

Center Set Bathroom Faucet

This style is the most common and simplest to install, as it does not require any plumbing work at all. The faucet has a center spout with two handles on either side (one for hot water and one for cold). It can be mounted above or below the sink countertop. This type of bathroom fixture is best suited for small bathrooms that do not have enough room for a large tub.

Single Handle Bathroom Faucet

A single handle bathtub faucet has only one handle. Usually there is also a separate control valve located under the counter so you can adjust both the temperature and flow rate of your shower/bathwater. These fixtures tend to be smaller than other models (typically between 24 inches and 36 inches wide) but they still provide plenty of space around them. They usually come equipped with an anti-scald device that stops the spray from reaching too high up onto the wall. Most people prefer this style because it’s easier to use when washing dishes or getting ready for bed.

Spread-Fit Bathroom Faucet

The spread-fit model is similar to the single-handle in size but it features three sets of controls instead of just two. One set controls the main stream while another controls the secondary streams, such as the soap dispenser. A third set allows you to regulate the temperature. There are also some models available which allow you to adjust the spray pattern by turning knobs on top of the unit. Some spread-fit models even feature built-in aerators, which make the water appear much more bubbly. Since these models often include multiple settings, they may take longer to operate. But since they offer greater flexibility, many homeowners find them worth the extra time needed to learn how to use them correctly.

Bridge Bathroom Faucet

The bridge bathroom faucet comes in several different designs. Some are made specifically for mounting over existing sinks; others attach directly to the walls. All of these models have a pair of handles and a single spout. The spout is adjustable, allowing you to direct the spray anywhere within reach of the user. Because they mount over a sink, these fixtures must have holes drilled into the countertop to accommodate pipes and hoses. However, if you don’t want to drill new holes, you can always buy a special adapter kit that will enable you to connect your old pipe system to the bridge faucet. Bridge models are generally larger than their counterparts designed for installation beneath counters. And although they’re easy to install, they can sometimes prove difficult to clean. Should you choose to purchase a bridge faucet, be sure to read the instructions carefully before beginning any plumbing work.

Wall Mounted Bathroom Faucets

This style consists of a faucet body with two or four legs that fit into pre-drilled holes in the wall. Wall mounted faucets require no additional piping or electrical wiring. They can be installed almost anywhere, including above or below the sink countertop. Many models also come with a pull chain that can be used to turn on and off the water supply.

This makes them ideal for older homes or those without adequate access to electricity. If you decide to go this route, be sure to measure the distance between the ceiling and the underside of your countertops. That way you can ensure the faucet doesn’t interfere with the height of the counter. When installing a wall mounted faucet, make sure the hole is large enough to accept the entire faucet assembly. Also be careful not to let any screws protrude beyond the surface of the wall. You can easily damage the woodwork.

Deck Mount Bathroom Faucet

A deck mounted bathtub faucet is about the same size as the center set. It has a center handle and two side sprayers (one for hot and one for cold). It can be mounted above or below the counter. Deck mounted faucets can be a good choice for bathrooms where the floor is uneven.

Or they can be useful when you need to install a faucet above a tub but you can’t get the desired clearance. Most decks are constructed of pressure treated lumber. Make sure to check the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the type of adhesive you should use to secure the faucet.

Roman Tub Faucets

These tub faucets are similar in size to center set faucets. Their main difference is the shape of their spouts and handles. Roman models have a round or oval handle while spread-fit versions feature a square handle. Some models even have a decorative ceramic cap. These fixtures can be mounted above or below the sink countertop.

They are also available as freestanding models that can be attached to a wall. Though they look fancy, the roman tub faucets aren’t very practical. They tend to take longer to operate than other styles. But because they offer more flexibility, many homeowners find them worth the extra time needed to learn how to use them correctly.

Freestanding Bathroom Faucet

The most unusual style is the freestanding bathroom faucet. The spout is located at the top of the fixture, which means it can be placed anywhere in the room. Freestanding faucets are also available with a built-in soap dispenser. These models are usually quite expensive. However, if you’re looking for something different, you may want to consider buying this style.

So which faucet do I recommend?

It depends on your needs. A spread-fit model would be best suited for a small bathroom. But if you have the space, a bridge faucet might be more appropriate. If you don’t mind the extra time needed to learn how to operate the controls, a bridge faucet could be a better option.

If you have a larger bathroom, and you plan to use a shower or a bath, you may prefer a wall-mounted faucet. But keep in mind that some of these models can be difficult to clean. If you don’t want to drill new holes, you can always buy an adapter kit that will enable you to connect your old pipe system to the wall faucet.
